Thursday evening....

Last year's playoff games...

It's Thursday evening and I'm in pain.  My back's giving me a hard time...those myofascial trigger points will get the best out of anyone!  I don't wish this on my worst enemy! Things are always better though...

If you don't already know, I'm an avid San Antonio Spurs fan.  Right now we're 2-2 with Oklahoma and it's driving us nuts down here!  I'm off in a bit to hang out with some neighbors/friends and watch the game tonight.  In the meantime...enjoy some photos!

Lazy Sundays...

Wow.  I've truly been slacking on this blog.  I thought that I'd stay consistent on this and keep track off all my movements but I suppose my laziness takes the best of me.

Sometimes when I get off work, all I want to do is just kick back, pour some whiskey, rum, beer...(depending on the mood) and just breathe and soak in all the serenity around me.  My apartment is pretty peaceful especially with the balcony view of the pool.
This is what I come home to...

Lately I've been on this kick of listening to old music such as Debarge, Stevie Wonder, and then there is Talib Kweli.  I enjoy his old stuff from the early 2000's.  Sometimes I believe I have this old soul that enjoys 70's, 80's and early 90's era music.  But then I fast forward to the present and if you know me personally, you know I'm crushing hard on Childish Gambino.  Well to an extent anyway.  I enjoy his current album, "Because the internet."  I'm drawn to the creativity behind the beats, sounds, words and most especially the theme.   But hey I love it all!  You will find me reminiscing to P.M. Dawn or Hi-Five (who hails from Waco by the waay!)
Summer 2013..looks fun eh?

Well...there isn't much else that is pressing or much feeling of inspiration to continue writing about.  I'm in the middle of things right now.  2014 should be a good year full of hope and anticipated happiness.  Though happiness is a fleeting feeling, I know it's something that will happen because, well, I just know it.  Looking forward to future bike rides, long summer nights talking, BBQ filled evenings and lounging by the pool.

Are blogs really hard to keep up with?

Hola!

3.1 Phillip Lim for Target
Today was the most usual of most days.  I woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed, made some breakfast for the roomie and I and then headed out to scour out any cheap finds.  After dropping off some clothes to donate/sell, I ambled across to the closest store which was Target.  You know it really felt like such a long day, waiting around for my clothes to be sold and picking apart the clothes at Target.  Good grief it was a mess...however amidst through it all I found the one shirt I was excited for from the Phillip Lim/Target collab:  the men's camo tee.

I was inspired from a fashion blogger I follow on Instagram and snapped a shot along with today's outfit.  I am channeling the grunge (cleaned up version) of the 90's.  I was dying for a flannel/plaid dress shirt so lucky me that I rummage through a neighbor's shirt to find the exact material!

Good price!  Great fall boots!

I also found some boots that I think I will be buy because you can never have enough ankle boots now that fall is here!  So back to my question, I honestly never realized how much time a blogger can spend snapping photos, filtering them to perfection and uploading them onto a blog.  I am fortunate I am just at the basic level, simply posting my thoughts and doing the simplest of things.  But I applaud the professional fashion bloggers who work diligently throughout the day amazing us with their finds and the enthusiasm they expel.  How exciting!  To be able to travel the country or even the world is truly an extraordinary experience I could only ever dream about!  Here's to the ladies letting us live vicariously through them!

Current clothing obsessions:  Plaid (obviously), fall boots, denim cut offs/shorts, drooling over some cowboy boots

On repeat:  Janelle Monae "Electric Lady",  Haim "Days are Gone"

                                                                             Eva Out!
Today's outfit!  Ralph Lauren plaid shirt that I stole from a neighbor, and my Michael Kors strappy sandals

Saturday's are for French films...

Good afternoon!!

After cleaning a bit and sprucing up the apartment, I found myself yet again searching for yet another movie or show to become engrossed in.  I remember in the past I would click on foreign films and never thought in a million years I'd enjoy reading subtitles.  Here I am now, I have an endless supply and look forward to discovering more interesting movies.

An oldie but goodie!

Okay so it's obvious I am still unsure of this blog.  Am I writing about personal matters of my life?  Probably shouldn't.  Am I disclosing the intimate details of my obsession with style and street fashion?  Hmmmmm.....it's a start!  With New York Fashion Week happening, I'm left here in SA wishing I could be enjoying the latest styles of certain designers.  I live vicariously through all my favorite fashion bloggers off Instagram, absorbing all the details and excitement they must obviously be feeling.

Flowers anyone?
It's a slow start but I think that slowly but surely opportunities and time will allow me to further develop my skill and sharpen my eye on my style.  I don't believe in changing people's styles.  I don't believe in dropping your personal tastes simply to follow another.  I do believe in embracing new styles and trends.  I believe in letting go of people's expectations and simply throw on that bizarre blazer or those menswear trousers (with suspenders!) and just laugh at yourself and at those who can't believe you had the nerve to throw it on!  Who cares!  It's so much stress relieving once you stop caring what people think of you.  Especially friends and family.  Anywho, I am enjoying my day today.  Took myself out to Starbucks for an iced coffee and some banana walnut bread.  It's nice to step outside of your home and enjoy the city and breathe in the dirty air!  :)

Current obsessions:  Zooey Deschanel, my thirst to peruse through EACH September issue I currently have, leather pants (I know I know) and my countdown to fall!  Hello blazers and fitted shirts! I'm waiting for the heat to settle itself down.

Just me posing like a rock star

Every day is a brand new day...

I'm still trying to figure out the direction of this blog.  On one end, I enjoy writing and describing the nuances of my every day life but on the other end, I'd like to explore the intricate details of fashion and my passion for it all...

I'm still not so sure... so here's the first thing I'm going to do:  I'm signing up to take a sewing class.  Step one:  Learn how to sew.  Step two:  Buy a sewing machine.  Step three:  start making pillow cases.  Okay maybe something more interesting for starters.

Audrey rocks my world....
Things in my life have been going in different directions.  Seems like every day I'm learning something new about myself and also about the people I surround myself with.  At times I worry about the trajectory of my career but I remind myself that we all have a purpose and what's meant to happen will happen.  I'm really looking forward to the next chapter in my life.  Now that I've turned 30 (yikes!), I've had a few epiphanies:  lose the "friends" that don't contribute anything positive to your life, focus on the goals and dreams you have to get you where you want and find a way to travel as often as possible.

Aug 2012 - A bridal shower I threw for my best friend

Some things I'm currently loving:  pencil skirts, 3 inch heels, flannel shirts (J.Crew) and lots of costume necklaces.  I went to the outlet mall recently and scored some amazing timeless pieces that will last FOR-EVER!  So finally, here are some random pictures of things that I love and obsess over:
